The MURSD Portrait of a Graduate- Why Is It So Important?

A key element of the new MURSD Strategic Plan, Inspire, is the "Portrait of a Graduate," a concise delineation of six essential competencies that all of our students should achieve upon graduation. These competencies can help us look beyond the high-stakes testing environment so they may develop essential skills for the workforce of today and beyond. But how should these competencies affect the curriculum and instruction of every grade level, PK-12? How should they be incorporated into professional practice? What are the first steps to measure student proficiency in the PoG? These questions will be explored in this session.
